Lori Flowers is a graduate of Lehigh University with degrees in psychology and in sociology. Lori and her husband, Andy belong to Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church where Andy serves as an elder. They have been married since 1985 and have been blessed with four children and seven grandchildren. After running a successful small business for several years, Lori left the workforce to devote her time to her children. It was during these early years of parenting that the Lord began to work a deep love for all children in her heart. Through the work of His Holy Spirit and the means of grace, He opened up many opportunities for her to grow in His Word, and to serve Him, specifically by loving others from many different backgrounds.

The Flowers became a biracial family in 1998 through adoption and have also fostered two African-American children. Andy and Lori were both recently re-certified as respite foster parents. Over the last twenty years they have housed children from the Domican Republic, Germany, the Philippines, India and Africa for periods ranging from a few weeks to 10 months, in addition to hosting and mentoring a single Mom and her three year old for nearly a year. The Lord has used all these opportunities to build in Lori an increasing desire to break down barriers of race and socioeconomic levels by building relationships with single Moms and with children and youth; relationships that are based on and fueled by the love of our Lord Jesus (Eph. 2:14, Gal 3:28 ).

Lori has been a Big Sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program since 2007 and has served as a CASA (court appointed special advocate ) in Bedford County. She has enjoyed being a children's choir director at REPC since 2002 and also serves as the music director of the annual VBS. She is mentoring single Moms and is a teaching leader for Community Bible Study, as well as a Sunday School teacher. She thoroughly enjoys being a part of the No Walls Ministry, and the monthly community picnics.

The driving force behind and through all of Lori's ministry is a God-given desire to love and serve the Lord Jesus by showing His love to others, especially the most vulnerable
i.e. children and single Moms, and thereby bring glory to Him (2 Thess. 2:11 and 12).
